How to use reports and profitability tools

Turn visits, revenue, labor, supplies, and overhead into decisions about the work you want more of.

Steps

  1. Open Finance → Reports — Open Finance and choose Reports. Use the command center for the current business snapshot, then choose a date range or reporting period. The dashboard Profit Scorecard is a faster today/week/month view for completed visits, revenue, and margin.
  2. Check the inputs behind the numbers — Before acting on a margin, confirm visits have the right status and price, time entries are attached to the correct work, and chemical or landscaping goods have a cost. Unpriced work and missing quantities can make a report look more profitable than the job really was.
  3. Compare service types and customers — Use profitability views to compare lawn treatment, mowing, landscaping, and other service types, then drill into individual customers or jobs. Look at revenue, labor, goods, overhead, hours, and margin together rather than judging a service by sales alone.
  4. Use the result to improve pricing — If a service or property consistently misses its target, review its recorded area, time, material cost, and price. Update service pricing or the customer's job price deliberately; reports describe what happened, while pricing changes decide what happens next.
  5. Export or share the right view — Choose the report and date range that answers the question you are working on, then use the available export or print controls. Keep payroll, customer details, and financial reports limited to the owners and admins who need them.
