Does TurfTechAdvisor offer integrated card-reader payments?

Integrated card-reader and swipe/tap collection are currently unavailable. Customers can pay online on their own device through Stripe Connect invoice links or the customer portal. Stripe online checkout is not an integrated in-person reader replacement.

How do online card payments work?

Connect your business's Stripe account to enable secure Pay Now links on eligible invoices. Customers pay online by card from their emailed invoice or your customer portal, and verified payments update the matching invoice balance and payment history automatically.

Where does the money go?

Accepted Answer

Online card payments settle through your own connected Stripe account, subject to Stripe's payout schedule. TurfTechAdvisor records the payment against the invoice — it doesn't hold your funds.

Is the payment recorded against the right invoice automatically?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when the Stripe online payment carries a verified invoice link. TurfTechAdvisor records the amount and method against that invoice, reduces the balance for partial payments, and marks it paid when the balance is cleared. Ambiguous, excess, refunded, or reversed activity remains visible for review rather than being forced onto the wrong balance. Check and cash payments must be recorded manually.

How do processor fees and payout deposits appear in QuickBooks?

When QuickBooks Online is connected and its accounts are mapped, TurfTechAdvisor keeps the customer payment, processor fee, tip, refund or reversal, and payout settlement as separate accounting components. This lets you compare the gross amount paid with the net amount deposited instead of changing the invoice to make the payout match.

Do I need QuickBooks to accept online payments?

No. Stripe Connect online payments work from the invoices you already create in TurfTechAdvisor. QuickBooks Online sync is optional; quoting, jobs, invoices, and online payment history remain in TurfTechAdvisor.

What does it cost to take payments?

On TurfTechAdvisor's free plan, Stripe online card payments cost 3.9% + 30¢ per payment, which includes a 1% platform fee. On Growth and Pro there's no platform fee, so online payments run at Stripe's standard 2.9% + 30¢. Can customers still pay by check or cash?

Yes. Card payments are an option, not a requirement. You can record check and cash payments against an invoice with the reference your office recognizes. If the payment syncs to QuickBooks, TurfTechAdvisor uses that trimmed manual reference and does not expose processor-generated IDs as the reference.
